Prior to joining Plan A Nicolas worked in New York City at Kohn Pedersen Fox, in India at Perkins Eastman, in Havana with La Oficina del Historiador and in France with Fernier & Associes. His experience ranges from a 5.59 million square feet mixed-used urban development in Philadelphia to a 600 foot tall Headquarters building in Shenzhen.
Nicolas is focused on fabrication and innovating at the intersection of disciplines. He co-founded a fabrication team to study and advance emerging and innovative design workflows, partnering with a local fabrication studio.
In 2015, Nicolas was awarded the Robert James Eidlitz Travel Fellowship to study architecture innovation in Iran. While at Cornell, Nicolas won several design competitions including the Edwind A. Seipp Memorial Design Competition and the Baird Design Competition. He received the Clifton Beckwith Brown Memorial Medal for highest cumulative average in architectural design over the entire course of study. As the top-ranking student in his NAAB accredited architecture program, he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal and Certificate of Merit. Nicolas has been a guest critic at Cornell University, Pratt University and the Rizvi College of Architecture in Mumbai. His report “La Franja Obispo - O’Reilly, caso de estudio: calle O’Reilly ” was published in the Oficina Del Historiador’s Library in Havana, Cuba.
