Aaron B. Schwarz, FAIA
Principal and Managing Director

Aaron is the managing director of Plan A and serves as principal-in-charge on all projects. He has over 40 years of experience in the design of new buildings, renovation projects, and major urban design and planning assignments. Prior to establishing Plan A, Aaron was a senior principal and founding executive director of Perkins Eastman. Primarily based in New York City, he was also the global leader of their higher education practice. During his tenure at Perkins Eastman, he was responsible for many initiatives and served as managing director of their Stamford and Charlotte offices. Most recently, Aaron lived in Mumbai to establish the firm’s design practice in India and Southeast Asia. Before joining Perkins Eastman, Aaron was a Managing and Design Principal at Perkins + Will, which he joined in 1981.

Aaron received his Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University in 1980. He was named as one of Crain’s 40 under 40 and was one of the New York Times’ Style Makers. His design work has been internationally published in numerous journals and books. In 2004, Aaron was elected into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects for his design contributions. He is a licensed architect in several different states in the United States and a registered architect in India.
